《源生》－2021年新冠肺炎數據集之資料藝術圖表研究與設計創作

2019年爆發的新冠肺炎改變了人類的生活模式、經濟與工作型態，工作與學習從實體轉為線上，人們也透過媒體與網路瞭解疫情的消息，隨著確診數的增加，數字有如無形的壓力面對數字，民眾是否還有其他觀看的方式？
資料視覺化將資料化繁為簡，以有助溝通的方式傳遞訊息，其中資料藝術圖表的表現方式有別於其他呈現，相較於乏味的基礎圖表，資料藝術圖表在設計中結合自然元素呈現資料內容，透過情感將資料與人連結，進行溝通，過往創作案例多倚賴程式編碼製作，如此讓不具備編碼經驗的人卻步，因此本研究創作目的為以不需程式編碼的方式進行資料藝術圖表創作。
本研究創作方法為文獻回顧法、文本分析法，以文獻回顧法了解圖表特性、編排設計作為創作基礎，文本分析收集醫療相關資料視覺化案例，分析其構成形式，作為創作參考，創作步驟規劃上透過文獻探索與歸納，在基本的五個步驟中加入觀看者回饋，確保創作的內容具良好的溝通效果，完整作品內容。
本研究創作內容為新冠肺炎之資料藝術圖表作品，主題為「源生」，說明不論是病毒或情緒都源自生活，儘管過去無法改變，但可用不同的態度與角度去面對，創作分為「星辰、展葉、盛花、潛洋」四系列，突破資料藝術圖表需使用程式編碼的慣例，以基礎圖表結合自然界元素進行資料藝術圖表創作，且透過觀看者回饋與創作反思得出1. 資料的正確性重於觀看者的期待2. 應根據閱讀習慣進行設計3. 骨架（輔助資訊）能帶領觀看者閱讀。

The outbreak of COVID-19 in 2019 has done a seriously impact on our daily live. More, not only our daily live, Working and Studying also changed from physical to online. Moreover, the news about COVID-19 we get from the social media via the internet, with the increasing numbers of COVID-19 cases have been confirmed, the more pressure the public need to face with. Is there any other way we can learn the data of pestilence?
Data visualization simplifies the data and transmits the data to help communicate. The display of Data Art Chart is different from other display methods. To compare with basic chart, the designs of Data Art Chart combines the nature elements, link data with people through emotions and communicate with people. In usual, most cases rely on coding, which held back people who had no coding knowledge. So the purpose of this research and creations of Data Art Chart is to do it in a way that does not require coding.
The creation methods of this research are literature review method and text analysis method. The literature review method use to understand the characteristics of charts and layout design as the basis for creation. Text analysis collects medical-related data visualization cases, analyzes their composition forms, and serves as a reference for creation. The creation steps are planned through literature exploration and induction, viewer feedback is added into the basic five steps to ensure that the content created has a good communication effect and the content of the work is complete.
The content of this research are Data Art Chart works of COVID-19. The theme is "Derive from Nature ", which shows that whether virus or emotion comes from life. Although the past cannot be changed, it can be faced with different attitudes and perspectives. The creation is divided into the four series of "Stars, Expanding Leaves, Blooming Flowers, Diving Oceans", break through the convention that Data Art Chart need to use coding, combine basic charts with natural elements to create Data Art Chart, and obtain from viewer feedback and creative reflection: 1. The correctness of Data is more important than the viewer's expectations 2. It should be designed according to reading habits 3. The framework (auxiliary information) can lead the viewer to read.
