Abstract

In the teaching space, color will directly affect the user's psychology and physiology, reflecting the mood and emotions, and indirectly affect the effectiveness of learning. Because students need to stay in the classroom for a long time, a good design plan for the color configuration is required during the process of classroom design.
This research mainly focuses on the study of user preference and universal design in the space color simulation of ordinary classrooms in colleges and universities. The latest annual color matching provided by the four major brand paint manufacturers is used as the research sample. The simulated classroom space samples are converted into online questionnaires through virtual reality technology, and the subjects are allowed to conduct a questionnaire survey of spatial color preference and perform statistical analysis. The purpose of the research is to explore the color preference of users for ordinary classroom spaces.
In addition, this research conducts color universality research from the perspective of color blindness. The simulated spatial color samples are converted into the color visual simulation of red blindness and green blindness, and through color quantitative analysis technology, it compares general users and color blind users in the classroom space color simulation psychological differences to explore the universal color scheme for the ordinary university classrooms.
The results of this study include: 1) The general color preference of the questionnaire samples is neutral and warmer; 2) The degree of influence of the three variables of department, grade, and gender on user preference, in order: gender>grade> departmen; 3) The color of classroom space should avoid the space color matching of red and green as much as possible; 4) The color matching of classroom space can use the characteristics of color brightness as a design technique for space differentiation; and 5) Dark colors should be avoided as much as possible on large-scale walls in the space.
The research results provide academic research and practical application value for the future color planning and color configuration of ordinary classrooms in colleges and universities. The friendly color planning scheme for color-blind persons proposed in this research can be used as a reference for the future color planning and design of ordinary classrooms in colleges and universities.
