電腦動畫《蘭嶼少年》創作述論與3D流體動力學模擬系統之技術研究

台灣動畫發展歷程以及環境現況，相較於歐、美及日本動畫快速發展，我國動畫產業長期存在許多問題及瓶頸。首先國內動畫影片面臨市場有限、賣座情況不佳及資金、創意、劇本不足的窘境，其次，因近年來韓國、中國大陸等亞洲國家的動畫創作崛起，迫使我國業者為維持生產利潤而紛紛外移到海外設立分公司，將傳統代工業務逐漸轉移到韓國、中國大陸、東南亞等低成本人力地區、造成我國動畫市場萎縮與產業外移。隨著以上這些效應，發現台灣動畫環境裡非常缺乏製作的特效製作的技術，甚至有可能會成為動畫製作中的致命傷。
流體動力學特效的動畫製作一直都是3D製作軟體的難題。雖然可以透過使用某些外掛插件程式來解決此問題，NextLimit公司開發的Realflow軟體，則帶給我們完整的流體動力學特效動畫解決方案。不論是3ds max、Maya、Cinema 4D、LightWave 3D、Softlmage、Houndini，以上的製作軟體都能創造出驚人的流體特效動畫。
本創作將藉由Realflow作為技術研究媒材，用以輔佐本篇創作。創作部分則以台灣原創為發想，為了能夠結合水與海洋則聯想到蘭嶼島上的達悟族來作為主題。達悟族是台灣原住民當中唯一靠海為生的族群，具有獨特性，因此選擇達悟族為本創作的主題。動畫內容使用Realflow軟體的流體特效來製作海洋、水流，呈現出真實水流的效果，搭配上達悟族以海上生活維生的動畫故事。
